
Julie Rannik Houston
Ms. Houston works as Of Counsel for our Florida office. She focuses on marine, insurance, motor and rail carrier transportation law as well as commercial cases from pre-litigation through trial and appeal. Ms. Houston is fluent in Spanish. She graduated from Davidson College (B.A., with honors, 1994) and the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1997). She was a Co-Articles and Comments Editor and the Student Writing and Symposium Editor for the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review.
In addition, she authored The Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996: A Death Sentence for the 212(c) Waiver, 28 U. Miami Inter-Am. L. Rev. 123 (1996). Ms Houston was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1997 and the Iowa Bar in 2006. In addition, she is admitted to practice in the Southern District of Florida and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
